You'll find peace when you realize that people are at war with themselves, not with you. The pain they carry, the wounds they avoid, and the battles they refuse to face often spill into the way they treat others. Not every harsh word, cold reaction, or act of disrespect is a reflection of your worth. Sometimes you simply become the closest target for a conflict that began long time ago. Understanding this frees you from carrying burdens that were never yours to hold. When you stop taking every action personally, you reclaim your energy and protect your inner peace. Compassion grows when you realize that people can only offer from the state of their own state of consciousness. Don't take it personally.

I find it comforting that the world does not stop when we are hurting. I find it cruel too.
